Lima (San Luis) Peru - Week 3

Well everyday I learn something new here in San Luis. The people are unlike any of the other areas that I've had thus far in the mission. They are great, but their hearts are just a little harder than the others. So, a lot more patience is required here. But sometimes it can get really hard because they don't want to hear something that'll change their lives. So, it can be hard not to get discouraged. But it we do get discouraged it’s even worse, because how can we be telling people that we have a message of happiness if we don't look happy? So, we always have to have a good attitude about the work even when nobody will accept you. Just always have to throw a smile on your face.

We had a sad experience with an investigator a few days ago. We went to visit him and he was really sad. So, we asked him what was going on and he said that he was having a lot of family problems..... And that he didn't have any money to take out his last paper he needs to get married. And no money to buy food for his family. He has been waiting for 8 years to get married and baptized. It’s so hard to see people in this situation. He wants it sooooo bad but the adversary just is working so hard on him and his family to not let it happen. But my comp and I have faith that he'll make it through and be able to make these covenants with God.

This week will be a very exciting week! We will be having a multizone conference with our president on Thursday and on Saturday we be having a huge conference with the mission Lima South. Elder Dallin H. Oaks, Bishop Gerald Causse, Lynn G Robbins, and some other 70s from the area here. So, it'll be really awesome to be there.

Have a great week and I love you all!!!!
